Third and last day in Dubai

As usual, one is never in a place long enough to see everything, especially when one is sick!  After a very rocky start for me, we went to the Mall of the Emerites for a visit. This is the mall where there is a snowfield.    There is a chairlift, a ski run, a luge run, tobogganing, and a penguin show.   We were able to watch some of the penguin show from an outside vantage point, as well as watching the  children and adults enjoying themselves in the snow.      There are also over 300 retail stores, and many restaurants , and a luxury hotel within the complex.
There were lots of shoppers, as Friday is the start of the weekend in Dubai, and the holy day of the week.
We had lunch in a food court, which was much like food courts all over  the world really.  You find it hard to believe you are actually in a foreign country, as English seems to be the main language spoken.

The main difference is the amount of men and women dressed in traditional clothing.

A taxi took us back to our motel, and a collapse into bed was the order of the day for me.  The others took a ride to the Gold Souk.  I was dissapointed to miss both it and the Dhow dinner cruise on the Dubai Creek, but I was just not able to go.

They described the Gold souk as bright, shiny and blingy.  TRO thought it was like being back in Turkey with the sales pitches.

They all enjoyed the Dhow cruise and the dinner that went with it.  All the dhow boats are lit up, and are very picturesque.   Dubai by night was a sight to behold.
