Photos and Musee D'orsay

DThis morning TRO and I had a photo shoot with a professional photographer.  We met Avril at the Luxembourg Gardens, and spent some time with her wandering through the gardens and having our photos taken in those lovely surroundings.

After making our way back to Rue de Cherche Midi, and having a quick lunch, we all set off on the train again  to go Musee D'orsay, where we had arranged to meet our young friend Candice, who is back packing around the world, and coincidentally happens to be here in Paris as the same time as us.   How lovely to catch up with such a delightful young woman, whom I have know since she was just five years old.

After enjoying afternoon tea together, we wandered around this magnificent museum, enjoying some of the works of art contained within it.   I imagine you could never do the whole museum in a day, it is the sort of place you could visit time and again.

This is a painting of the area we had coffee in  before we went to Reims.  Notice the sculpture of Jeanne d'Arc.

This is the the French Legion of Honour medal.

When we left the  museum  it was pouring with rain; the vendors were taking advantage of it, and running around offering umbrellas and ponchos for sale.   I was prepared with my own poncho, so that helped to keep me dry as we walked back to the station.

Greek food for dinner tonight...there is a Greek place around the corner.

  1. Carrying a poncho would be one of my favourite travel tips. The photo shoot was a great idea. What lovely photo memories.
