It got worse before it got better

O
It was a very early start this morning, a 4 am wake up call, for a 5 am pickup. I was still struggling with not being well, and when we met our companions in the lobby, discovered that Kwong was sick as well.    Oh dear, and we have a six hour flight to endure !  Everyone's worse nightmare I think, being unwell in transit.    Kath assured me me that rather than give you special treatment , they don't let you on the plane if you are sick, so we both put on a brave face, and did the best we could.    After a lengthy wait for our 8 am flight, we were safely settled on the plane, which was enormous, one of the two storied varieties.

However, we arrived safely, both feeling much improved.  We managed to connect  with our driver, and he quickly transported us to our apartment in the 6th arrondissement (or district) of Paris.   We are situated within walking distance of most tourist attractions, albeit some are long walks,  we figure that will be good for walking off the French food we plan to consume.

Our apartment is on the second floor, with no lift.  We knew this when we booked, so it came as no surprise.  Our driver helped to haul the suitcases up the stairs, so we are just left with bringing them down when we leave.   We have two bedrooms, two toilets , a full kitchen, and a very comfortable lounge room.  There is free internet, and free phone calls to everywhere except Australia , so sorry  folks, we won't be calling.

Our building looks just like all the others in the street, and this is the view out of the window.
The weather is warm, but we can have the screen free windows wide open all day and night with no fear of flies or other flying nasties coming in.  Quite a bonus really, when you think about the Australian  summer evenings.
The only downside to having the windows open is the traffic noise, in particular, the motor bikes.

A quick shopping trip for a few supplies, a light dinner, and an early night for all.
