Troy

Today, after staying overnight at the very luxurious Kolin Hotel in Canakkele, we went to visit the town of Troy, home of the large wooden horse

Breakfast in part

consisted of Turkish pastry, croissant, and honeycomb, which was delicious. As a consumer of this for the first time, I loved it. This is not all mine, it was a shared plate.

Troy is the most amazing place, there are actually nine towns built on the same site, one on top of the other, dating back to 2500BC
You can see ruins from most of these towns, including the original city walls.

Of course, the large wooden horse holds pride of place as you walk in the gate.

Troy is well worth a visit, but again, don't leave it until your dotage!

Posted from another glorious day in Turkey.
