First full day in Duvutlar

Woken at 5am by the call to prayer from the mosque just down the road. The call comes five times a day, and Frank thinks Blair should get outside our church with a bullhorn and do the same thing. It is a weird sort of wailing noise, and the boys are using the late afternoon call for beer o'clock!

The double minaretted mosque was one of the land marks we had to look for to find our resort.

The more minarets a mosque has, the richer it is. From the outside, this one looks quite ornate.
After breakfast, and before the 34 degree heat kicked in, Mark, Frank and I walked down to the shops. The extreme heat has made it necessary for me to buy some sunglasses and a new, wider sun hat.

A few purchases of simit, bananas, meat from the local butcher, a sun bed for the pool, and we head back up the hill for home. Whilst we are staying in luxurious surroundings, not all live this way.

Fruit trees abound in the streets, and the fig tree reminded me of the scripture that talks about the fig tree not blossoming...Habbakuk 3:17-18

The rest of the day was spent around the pool, in the pool, internetting, now we have free access, and swimming.
All in all, a very relaxing day.
