It was wonderful to meet up with our family and head off towards our very large ship, the Costa Atlantica....yes you read rightly, we are cruising with the line that had the accident off the coast of Italy.
This ship is enormous, and there are 1800 guests on board. Us English speaking variety are in the minority, although we do have an English speaking hostess to help and look after us.
We have been upgraded to a balcony cabin, is is very refreshing to stand outside and overlook the sea.
We don't really wear the life jackets indoors, Frank was just practicing .
First sunset at sea, we had not hit open water yet. You can just see an island to the side.
Dinner in the dining room was an Italian night, and very festive. The waiters got people up to dance, and then there was a conga line through the place.
Food was delicious, and the service impeccable.
